• Taiyi Road (Minzu Road) → Jiuru 4th Road → Hua'an Street → Gushan 3rd Road → Wanshou Road (Yuanheng Temple) → Wanshou Mountain Bridge → Shoushan Zoo

• National Highway 1 → Zhongzheng Interchange → Zhongzheng 4th Road → Dagong Road → Gushan 1st Road → Xinglong Road → Wanshou Mountain Bridge → Shoushan Zoo

Shoushan Zoo Parking Information

• Number of parking spaces: 245 for cars, 26 for motorcycles

• Parking fees: Cars are charged NT$40 per entry on weekdays and NT$15 every 30 minutes on weekends. Motorcycles are charged NT$10 per entry on weekdays and weekends.

Shoushan Zoo Transportation 2. Taking MRT / Light Rail

Kaohsiung MRT and Kaohsiung Light Rail are also alternative transportation options in Kaohsiung:

• Take the MRT to Yanchengpu Station and then take Exit 4. From there, take bus number 56 at the bus stop in front of Hua Nan Bank to reach Shoushan Zoo.

• Take the Light Rail to Wunwu Shengdian Station and then walk along the main road until Gushan 1st Road. Turn right and take bus number 56 at the Taipower Station to reach Shoushan Zoo.

Shoushan Zoo Transportation 3. Take the Shoushan Zoo Special Bus

For those who do not drive or are visiting from out of town, taking the bus is also a good option.

Take bus number 56, the Shoushan Zoo special bus:

Depart from Kaohsiung Train Station → Yanchengpu MRT Station → Light Rail Wunwu Shengdian Station → Shoushan Zoo.

• Boarding locations:

  • From Kaohsiung Train Station: Zhongshan 1st Road (near the intersection of Zhongshan 1st Road and Lane 325).

  • From Yanchengpu MRT Station: Take Exit 4 and walk about 150 meters to the intersection of Wufu 4th Road and Wufu Leshan Street.

  • From Light Rail Wunwu Shengdian Station: Get off at Wunwu Shengdian Station and walk along the main road until Gushan 1st Road. Turn right and walk about 50 meters to Taipower Station.

• Departure times: From 08:30 to 17:30 daily. Buses run every 40 minutes on weekdays and every 20 minutes on weekends. There is also a special MRT Yanchengpu Station to Zoo bus that runs every 10-15 minutes on weekends. Please note that the bus does not operate on Mondays.

Take Bus No. 219:

From Jiachang Station, take the bus and follow the route: Jiachang Road → Haochang Road → Zuonan Road → Zuoying Avenue → Gushan Administrative Center Station → Dajin Road → Yancheng Circle Station / Get off at Gushan Administrative Center Station, then walk up the Wanshou Road to reach the zoo.

Shoushan Zoo Transportation 4. Take the Shoushan Zoo Shuttle Bus

The Shoushan Zoo Shuttle Bus is a service provided on special occasions or during large events when there is expected to be a large number of visitors. The Kaohsiung City Government will activate the Shoushan Zoo Shuttle Bus service.

For example, during the four-day Double Ten holiday in 2023, the zoo will provide additional shuttle services from October 7th to October 10th, which users will have to pay for.

• Shoushan Zoo Shuttle Bus Fare: The fare is the same as Kaohsiung City buses, with a full fare of 12 NTD and a half fare of 6 NTD.

• Shoushan Zoo Shuttle Bus Schedule: The first bus departs from the Taini Temporary Parking Lot at 9:30 AM, and the last bus departs at 4:00 PM. The last bus departing from the zoo is at 5:30 PM.

• Shoushan Zoo Shuttle Bus Location: If you are driving, you can park your vehicle at the Taini Temporary Parking Lot located at the intersection of Lane 265, Gushan 2nd Road, and Gushan 3rd Road. Use an electronic ticket or prepare the exact change to board the shuttle bus to the zoo.
