- It is not recommended to take the High Speed Rail (HSR) from central New Taipei to Yangmei Guishan Park. HSR is quick but pricey and involves transfer hassles. Although there can be up to 61 trains from Banqiao to Taoyuan a day, running from the first at 06:34 to the last at 23:08, once service ends for the night until early morning, alternative transportation is still required. Assuming you depart from Banqiao District, New Taipei City, you may walk or take a bus—if available—to Banqiao HSR station. Including walking to the platform, buying a ticket, and waiting for the train, it takes at least 20 minutes. Then, take a 11-13-minute (13 min on average) HSR ride from Banqiao Station to Taoyuan HSR Station. The ticket price is NT$130 per person, followed by a 5-minute walk to exit the station, wait for a ride at the taxi stand, and after a trip of about 26 minutes with a fare of NT$400, you will arrive at your destination at Yangmei Guishan Park (Yangmei District, Taoyuan City). The entire journey, including transfers, takes a total of 1 hour and 4 minutes. Assuming 5 people traveling together (and have to split into two taxis), the average cost per person for the HSR and transfers is NT$290.
