- To take the High Speed Rail (HSR) from downtown Taoyuan to Lihpao Resort, HSR is expensive, slow, and involves transfer hassles. From the earliest departure at 06:49 to the latest at 23:21, there are up to 72 high-speed rail from Taoyuan to Taichung each day. Assuming you depart from Zhongli District, Taoyuan City, you may walk or take a bus—if available—to Taoyuan HSR station. Including walking to the platform, buying a ticket, and waiting for the train, it takes at least 15 minutes. Then, take a 30-43-minute (38 min on average) HSR ride from Taoyuan Station to Taichung HSR Station. The ticket price is NT$540 per person, followed by a 10-minute walk to exit the station, wait for a ride at the taxi stand, and after a trip of about 36 minutes with a fare of NT$900, you will arrive at your destination at Lihpao Resort (Houli District, Taichung City). The entire journey, including transfers, takes a total of 1 hour and 39 minutes. Assuming 2 people traveling together, the average cost per person for the HSR and transfers is NT$990.
