TRA Sandiaoling Station private Transfer FAQs
- It is not recommended to take the High Speed Rail (HSR) from Yilan to TRA Sandiaoling Station. HSR is expensive, slow, involves transfer hassles, and has difficult taxi access. Although there can be up to 101 trains from Nangang to Taipei a day, running from the first at 06:15 to the last at 22:50, once service ends for the night until early morning, alternative transportation is still required. Assuming you depart from Jiaoxi Township, Yilan County and head to the nearest Nangang HSR station, a taxi ride would cost about NT$900 and take approximately 50 minutes. After arriving at the HSR station, the time to walk in, purchase tickets, and wait on the platform is about 20 minutes. Then, take a 7-8-minute (8 min on average) HSR ride from Nangang Station to Taipei HSR Station. The ticket price is NT$40 per person, followed by a 15-minute walk to exit the station, wait for a ride at the taxi stand, and after a trip of about 57 minutes with a fare of NT$1,600, you will arrive at your destination at TRA Sandiaoling Station (Ruifang District, New Taipei City). The entire journey, including transfers, takes a total of 2 hours and 30 minutes. Assuming one person traveling alone, the total transportation cost is NT$2,540. However, in Yilan County, there are only just over 700 licensed taxis. The taxi density is 0.9% of that in the Taipei/New Taipei metro area.
