TRA Houlong Station to Taoyuan Airport (TPE) - meet & greet

For many travelers from outside the city, the most common way to start an overseas trip is by taking the HSR or train to TRA Houlong Station and then transferring to the airport. However, this short connection from the station to the airport is often the riskiest part of the entire journey. Dragging heavy luggage through a large station to find the airport bus or MRT is time-consuming, and any delay during the transfer process can cause the stress of potentially missing your flight. Fixed bus or MRT schedules also may not align perfectly with your departure time, leaving you waiting for long periods at the station or airport. Tripool’s direct “station-to-airport” transfer service is designed to eliminate that stress completely, built around precision and efficiency. By the time your train is approaching Miaoli County, our driver will already have checked your flight details and planned the best route to Taoyuan Airport (TPE). As soon as you exit the station, you can get straight into your car and hand over your luggage with peace of mind. Our shared ride service, starting from NT$1400, offers excellent value for solo travelers, while groups or families will find the 9-seater vans starting from NT$3300 both spacious and comfortable, with the option to add child safety seats for extra peace of mind. Don’t let uncertainty on the way to the airport ruin your trip—book Tripool now and let us provide the most stable and reliable start to your overseas journey, ensuring you arrive at the terminal on time and in a relaxed, stress-free mood.

Taoyuan Airport (TPE) private Transfer FAQs

  • Tripool will send a receipt through the third-party system one week after the ride. If passengers need to claim reimbursement for travel expenses, there is a blank to fill with the company's title and tax ID. It's legal, and there is no extra 5% for the receipt. Once the receipt is received via email, it can be printed out for reimbursement or saved as a PDF.
  • Some drivers in Line and Facebook groups claim that they can offer private transportation services with a group of more than 8 in a single van, but their services are illegal. According to Taiwan traffic laws, a van can only accommodate nine people maximum, including a driver. Excluding a driver, the maximum number of passengers is 8. If your group is 9 or more and you prefer to travel together in one vehicle, a bus is the only legal option. Some 9-seater van drivers modify their cars and add one or two extra chairs. If these modified vans are detected by the polices on the street, your trip will be terminated immediately. Worst of all, there are additional risks for accidents. And insurance is definitely not covering it. Don't risk your family's and friends' life for a lower price. If your group is no more than 10, we recommend hiring a 9-seater van and a 5-seater sedan. It is cheaper than booking a bus on most occasions. But if your group is more than 12, hiring a bus may be ideal. However, there are few exceptions, such as traveling to mountain areas or narrow lanes. It is better to consult our online service before booking.
  • To take the High Speed Rail (HSR) from TRA Houlong Station to Taoyuan Airport (TPE), HSR is economical and fast but involves transfer hassles and has difficult taxi access. From the earliest departure at 06:24 to the latest at 23:00, there are up to 32 high-speed rail from Miaoli to Taoyuan each day. Assuming you depart from TRA Houlong Station (Houlong Township, Miaoli County) , you may walk or take a bus—if available—to Miaoli HSR station. Including walking to the platform, buying a ticket, and waiting for the train, it takes at least 15 minutes. Then, take a 22-25-minute (23 min on average) HSR ride from Miaoli Station to Taoyuan HSR Station. The ticket price is NT$280 per person, followed by a 5-minute walk to exit the station, wait for a ride at the taxi stand, and after a trip of about 20 minutes with a fare of NT$400, you will arrive at your destination at Taoyuan Airport (TPE) (Dayuan District, Taoyuan City). The entire journey, including transfers, takes a total of 1 hour and 3 minutes. Assuming 3 people traveling together, the average cost per person for the HSR and transfers is NT$410. However, in Miaoli County, there are only just over 400 licensed taxis. The taxi density is 0.5% of that in the Taipei/New Taipei metro area. In other words, hailing a taxi on the spot is 200 times more difficult than in a major city like Taipei. Even if you are lucky enough to hail a cab, a minority of taxi drivers in Miaoli County may not use the meter, and might overcharge or take detours, especially with passengers who appear to be from out of town. In contrast, if you use Tripool for a door-to-door private car service, the average cost per person is about NT$730, and the journey takes 1 hour and 11 minutes. Although taking the HSR saves money and is also 8 minutes faster, if you have bulky luggage, are traveling with elders with limited mobility, or worry about getting drenched during transfers on a rainy day, spending a little extra on a private car service can save you a lot of hassle. Furthermore, if you have more people in your group, the average cost per person drops significantly when you book with Tripool. If you are traveling with just one other person, you can also consider Tripool's carpooling service to save up to an additional 50% on transportation costs.
  • Travelers usually do not choose to rent or drive to Taoyuan Airport (TPE). After all, leaving a car parked for multiple days means that parking fees and rental costs become a substantial expense.
  • If you choose to take a taxi directly, in the Miaoli County area, you can use apps to hail a cab from 55688 Taiwan Taxi, and if you cannot hail a cab on the street, you can also consider calling the only neighborhood taxi company in Houlong Township, Miaoli County, 大都會衛星車隊 to try to book a ride. Based on the meter, the estimated fare is between NT$2,220 and 2,700, but you could save up to NT$500 by booking with Tripool instead. But if you cannot book in advance or prefer to hail a cab on the spot, be aware that in the whole Miaoli County, there are only about 380 licensed taxis. The taxi density is just 0.5% of that in the Taipei/New Taipei metro area, meaning it is 200 times more difficult to hail a cab on the spot compared to Taipei or New Taipei. Furthermore, some taxi drivers in Miaoli County flat-out refuse to use the meter. Nearly 34% of them will try to negotiate the fare on the spot—often asking far above the standard rate. If you’re not familiar with local pricing, you are an easy target. To avoid getting ripped off, it is strongly advised to book online in advance. Considering all factors, Tripool is your best choice for traveling from TRA Houlong Station to Taoyuan Airport (TPE) in terms of both price and service quality.
  • If your flight is delayed, you can contact our online customer service. We will try our best to reschedule a car for your new time. But if we don't get a notification from you before landing and the driver has already reached the airport, we cannot guarantee that the rescheduled driver will be on time. You can contact our driver for an early pick-up for early arrival if our driver is available or already waiting at the airport.
  • Passengers can request free cancelation one day before by noon. 100% refundable for any reason. Just send us an email or fill up the cancelation form. No additional administration fee is guaranteed.
  • According to the latest Taiwan government announcement, all international inbound travelers cannot take public transportations but only wait for quarantine taxis. If you go to a quarantine hotel near Taipei, it takes around 5 to 10 minutes to leave the airport. Bad news for passengers who will travel down to Taichung or Kaohsiung, it may take up to one hour to wait for a quarantine taxi at the airport. There is no timeline for when the government will loose the regulation. Our suggestion is staying a hotel near Taipei. It is not only the waiting time at the airport for a taxi is shorter, but always it is easier to find an available room in Taipei. After 14-day quarantine, you are welcome to reserve a ride from the hotel to your home or dormitory. Tripool guarantees to provide private car service from anywhere to everywhere in Taiwan.
