However, from the first train at 06:36 to the last train at 23:01, there are only up to 27 HSR trains from Changhua to Zuoying a day. If your schedule is tight or you might miss the last train, you should consider booking a private transfer. Assuming you depart from TRA Yuanlin Station (Yuanlin City, Changhua County) and head to the nearest Changhua HSR station, a taxi ride would cost about NT$400 and take approximately 32 minutes. After arriving at the HSR station, the time to walk in, purchase tickets, and wait on the platform is about 15 minutes. Then, take a 53-55-minute (55 min on average) HSR ride from Changhua Station to Zuoying HSR Station. The ticket price is NT$670 per person, followed by a 10-minute walk to exit the station, wait for a ride at the taxi stand, and after a trip of about 59 minutes with a fare of NT$1,400, you will arrive at your destination at Donggang Harbor (Donggang Township, Pingtung County). The entire journey, including transfers, takes a total of 2 hours and 51 minutes. Assuming 3 people traveling together, the average cost per person for the HSR and transfers is NT$1,270. However, in Changhua County, there are only just over 1,600 licensed taxis. The taxi density is 3.7% of that in the Taipei/New Taipei metro area. In other words, hailing a taxi on the spot is 30 times more difficult than in a major city like Taipei. Even if you are lucky enough to hail a cab, a minority of taxi drivers in Changhua County may not use the meter, and might overcharge or take detours, especially with passengers who appear to be from out of town. For long-distance travel, the HSR is indeed faster than a car by 6 minutes, but it comes with an extra transportation cost of about NT$210. If the driver is not at the pick-up location, passengers can contact the driver via mobile phone. The driver may be away due to a lack of parking space and waiting nearby. Suppose there is some serious emergency or traffic jam to delay the trip. In that case, tripool will rearrange a driver to reduce passengers' waiting time.
- Passengers can request additional stops for a ride from TRA Yuanlin Station to Donggang Harbor. Every 5 km of additional distance for a stop charges NT$200, whether it is along the way or not. It's necessary for the driver's extra time.
