Terminal 1 private Transfer FAQs

  • It is not recommended to take the High Speed Rail (HSR) from central New Taipei to Terminal 1. HSR is expensive, slow, and involves transfer hassles. Although there can be up to 61 trains from Banqiao to Taoyuan a day, running from the first at 06:34 to the last at 23:08, once service ends for the night until early morning, alternative transportation is still required. Assuming you depart from Banqiao District, New Taipei City, you may walk or take a bus—if available—to Banqiao HSR station. Including walking to the platform, buying a ticket, and waiting for the train, it takes at least 20 minutes. Then, take a 11-13-minute (13 min on average) HSR ride from Banqiao Station to Taoyuan HSR Station. The ticket price is NT$130 per person, followed by a 5-minute walk to exit the station, wait for a ride at the taxi stand, and after a trip of about 20 minutes with a fare of NT$400, you will arrive at your destination at Terminal 1 (Dayuan District, Taoyuan City). The entire journey, including transfers, takes a total of 58 minutes. Assuming 4 people traveling together, the average cost per person for the HSR and transfers is NT$230. In contrast, if you use Tripool for a door-to-door private car service, the average cost per person is about NT$230, and the journey takes 36 minutes. If your time is valuable or you are enjoying a meaningful trip with your family, taking the HSR—and wasting an extra 22 minutes—may not be the best choice. If you are traveling in a group of three or less, you can also consider Tripool's carpooling service to save up to an additional 50% on transportation costs.
  • Travelers usually do not choose to rent or drive to Terminal 1. After all, leaving a car parked for multiple days means that parking fees and rental costs become a substantial expense.
  • If you choose to take a taxi directly, in the New Taipei City area, you can use apps to hail a cab from 55688 Taiwan Taxi, Uber, Line Go, Yoxi, etc., and if you cannot hail a cab on the street, you can also consider calling taxi fleets, such as 永達交通, 亞太衛星車隊, 新北市第一計程車 to try to book a ride. Based on the meter, the estimated fare is between NT$1,015 and 1,200, but by booking with the Tripool app, you can get a private car service for about a 5-25% discount. Considering all factors, Tripool is your best choice for traveling from New Taipei to Terminal 1 in terms of both price and service quality.
  • According to the latest Taiwan government announcement, all international inbound travelers cannot take public transportations but only wait for quarantine taxis. If you go to a quarantine hotel near Taipei, it takes around 5 to 10 minutes to leave the airport. Bad news for passengers who will travel down to Taichung or Kaohsiung, it may take up to one hour to wait for a quarantine taxi at the airport. There is no timeline for when the government will loose the regulation. Our suggestion is staying a hotel near Taipei. It is not only the waiting time at the airport for a taxi is shorter, but always it is easier to find an available room in Taipei. After 14-day quarantine, you are welcome to reserve a ride from the hotel to your home or dormitory. Tripool guarantees to provide private car service from anywhere to everywhere in Taiwan.
  • There are many gypsy cabs or illegal taxis in Line and Facebook groups. Their fares are cheap but with many risks. If the cabs are pulled over by polices, passengers cannot continue the trip. If there is an accident, none of the insurance companies will settle a claim. Worst of all, illegal drivers may conduct crimes without any trace. Don't put your life at risk for just saving a few bucks. On the other hand, tripool contracts with legal drivers without any criminal record. All vehicles provide up to $5 million in insurance. The easiest way to distinguish a legal vehicle is the car plate number. Unless the initial character of the car plate number is either T or R, the car is 100% illegal for taxi service.
  • If your flight is delayed, you can contact our online customer service. We will try our best to reschedule a car for your new time. But if we don't get a notification from you before landing and the driver has already reached the airport, we cannot guarantee that the rescheduled driver will be on time. You can contact our driver for an early pick-up for early arrival if our driver is available or already waiting at the airport.
  • According to the law in Taiwan, all passengers have to fasten seat belts, no matter what ages they are. For a baby below 4-year-old or a young child who cannot comfortably be on the seat with a seat belt, it is necessary to use a car seat or a safety booster. There is a check box for renting a baby car seat or a child safety booster on the check-out page. Each rental fee is NT$300. If you need multiple car seats/boosters or you need an infant car seat, please check with our online customer service first. Tripool encourages parents to bring their car seats and boosters, and, of course, it is free of charge.
  • Some drivers in Line and Facebook groups claim that they can offer private transportation services with a group of more than 8 in a single van, but their services are illegal. According to Taiwan traffic laws, a van can only accommodate nine people maximum, including a driver. Excluding a driver, the maximum number of passengers is 8. If your group is 9 or more and you prefer to travel together in one vehicle, a bus is the only legal option. Some 9-seater van drivers modify their cars and add one or two extra chairs. If these modified vans are detected by the polices on the street, your trip will be terminated immediately. Worst of all, there are additional risks for accidents. And insurance is definitely not covering it. Don't risk your family's and friends' life for a lower price. If your group is no more than 10, we recommend hiring a 9-seater van and a 5-seater sedan. It is cheaper than booking a bus on most occasions. But if your group is more than 12, hiring a bus may be ideal. However, there are few exceptions, such as traveling to mountain areas or narrow lanes. It is better to consult our online service before booking.
